Meland's Elk Meadows

About Us

We are located in beautiful Elk River, MN on 23 1/2 acres of woods, meadows, and low lands, and ponds. We have both Rocky Mountain Elk And Manitoban Elk and we have crosses between the two also. Our elk live in a richley diverse environment where they can choose Trees for shade, ponds for bathing, and meadows for grazing. Our elk eat the product of our land which includes hay in the winter from our meadows, and corn which is grown for a supplement to their diet. We take pride in keeping our herd down to a size that allows it to be self-sufficiant with the land we own. We currently have 16 head with 5 breeding cows to be bred this fall. 

Our animals have a friendly disposition and are easy to handle when it comes time for vaccinations or for any other reason. The elk have human contact daily during feeding time and they enjoy being around people.
